MEET THE PRESS – HOLLIE BOND, YOU & YOUR WEDDING

What are the 5 words that best describe you?

Considering I’m a words person this is a difficult one – Inquisitive, Thoughtful, Committed, Sensitive and Positive.

Which publications online and offline do you enjoy reading and why?

I read Condé Nast Traveller and Lonely Planet Traveller because I’m obsessed with travelling as well as Dancing Times (ballet is my big passion). I also love Good Housekeeping, Country Living and any interiors magazines, as I’m doing up my house. I don’t read much online except BBC News. After a day in the office staring at a screen I don’t want to spend more time than necessary online.

Who is the target audience for You & Your Wedding?

Our main audience is engaged couples and people close to them within the bridal party who have an interest in helping them plan their day – bridesmaids, groomsmen and mothers and fathers of brides and grooms.

What are your working on currently?

I’m currently planning and writing our annual 52-page honeymoon guide. It’s a massive undertaking, but I love every minute of it. I get to spend my days writing about the world’s most beautiful destinations and looking at incredible pictures. It always makes me want to book a million holidays though!

What has been your best career moment?

Every time I jet off to discover another honeymoon destination I pinch myself that this is part of my job. I am so lucky to be able to travel the world for work. I also get a real sense of satisfaction knowing that a feature I’ve written has inspired someone. When I wrote my own honeymoon for the magazine a couple booked the exact same trip as they’d loved the sound of it so much. It’s lovely to know that I’ve helped someone else to have an unforgettable experience.

Who inspires you?

My father. He is so self-motivated and such a hard worker, but is totally selfless at the same time. I hope I’ve inherited some of his work ethic and generosity.

Where are you happiest?

When I’m dancing, or travelling.

Who would be your number one dinner guest be and why? (They can be past or present)

Margot Fonteyn. Not only was she a wonderful dancer, but she had a fascinating life.

If you had to ask us one question what would it be?

If you could only holiday in one place for the rest of your life where would it be?

Scarlett PR’s Juliet says – Lovely question and the answer would definitely be – Bermuda.  I was bought up there until I was 10 years and my dad still lives on the island. It’s like heaven on earth!
