What are the 5 words that best describe you?

Enthusiastic, determined, caring (I hope), entrepreneur and mum!

Which publications online and offline do you enjoy reading and why?

I think most working mums will empathise when I say that with three young children and a business to run, finding time to read anything other than bedtime stories is a rare luxury. On the odd occasion I get the chance to have breakfast in bed on a Sunday I love nothing more than trawling through the Sunday supplements… other than that, it’s a scroll through Twitter on the train to and from work to see what headlines grab my eye.

Who is your target audience?

Everybody! Men, women, girls looking to have fun with their friends in their 20s, mums to be, mothers and daughters, hen parties, stag dos, people recovering from cancer… you name it, we try to cater for that market.

What are your working on currently?

Personalised wellness and increasing our global presence. Historically we have had a very UK centric market but we have been growing rapidly with overseas breaks in the last two years and now have more than 20% of our venues overseas.

What has been your best career moment?

Just one? Being named number two in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 in 2012 was an astonishing moment and a real marker of the progress we had made up until that point. This year there have been a number of awards that I have been incredibly proud of as well – particularly those like the HERoe Champions of Women in Business award – because I know the challenges that women can face in trying to make strides in business and it’s such a joy when I can help support other women to get to where they want to go.

Who inspires you?

On a personal level, my partner, my staff and my children. On a professional level, Sue Harmsworth, the founder of ESPA has done incredible things with her business and is an inspiring industry leader. She founded ESPA comparatively late in life in her at the age of 47 in 1992 and now at 72 continues to travel a ridiculous amount, work hard and remain true to her ethos. It’s a thoroughly modern brand aimed at bringing holistic therapy to modern life and it’s that ethos that the spa industry as a whole should be listening to. She’s inspirational to learn about and listen to.

Where are you happiest?

Without my shoes on, running around on the beach with my children and my partner. I am originally from Devon so to me being close to the sea and not having my shoes on is the height of happiness and freedom all at once.

Who would be your number one dinner guest be and why? (they can be past or present)

Right now, I think I would like to sit down and have a chat with Meghan Markle – she’s very much captured the zeitgeist and seems to be so full of energy. I think she’s an amazing addition to the royal family and I love the way she encourages women in her actions and her words without being anything other than entirely positive.

If you had to ask Scarlett PR one question what would it be?

What’s your favourite spa experience and why?

Any one of our clients!! I like somewhere for different occasions. A city based spa is fun when shopping and lunching with friends but if I spa with my mum, we often like to travel and stay within a beautiful countryside setting for a couple of nights. The treatments need to be innovative and beneficial and the food offering first class!
